Caleb D. Martin - Equine Specialist | CADC Intern
For Caleb D. Martin, horses have been a lifelong passion, a source of purpose, and a powerful teacher. His journey with horses began at the age of five and has continued for more than 40 years, taking him across the United States and through multiple disciplines, including reining, hunters, jumpers, and dressage. Through decades of riding, training, and competition, Caleb has learned that horsemanship is about far more than what happens in the saddle. Horses teach us to slow down, listen, communicate without words, build trust, respect boundaries, and remain present in the moment. Those lessons are at the heart of his approach to equine therapy. Caleb holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Management, bringing a strong foundation in leadership, organization, and management to his role with Guiding With Care. His professional experience is complemented by extensive hands-on experience with horses and years of involvement with large equine therapy operations specializing in veterans and first responders. His commitment to the veteran community is deeply personal. Caleb has three brothers who are veterans, giving him a profound appreciation for the courage, sacrifice, and challenges that can accompany a life of service. That personal connection has strengthened his desire to create a place where veterans, first responders, and their families can find understanding, connection, and support without judgment. At Guiding With Care, Caleb believes that horses can serve as a bridge between people and the healing process. A horse does not judge someone’s past, ask them to explain what they have experienced, or expect them to have all the answers. Instead, the horse responds to what is happening in the present moment. That simple but powerful relationship can create opportunities to rediscover trust, confidence, communication, and a sense of control.
As Head of Equine Therapy, Caleb’s vision is to help create an environment where every participant is treated with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect. He believes meaningful change does not always happen quickly—and that sometimes the most important first step is simply having a safe place to be. Guiding With Care is built on the belief that no one should have to walk their journey alone. With a lifetime devoted to horses, a background in leadership and management, extensive experience in equine therapy, and a personal connection to the veteran community, Caleb brings both expertise and heart to his work. His goal is simple but meaningful: to guide people toward hope, connection, confidence, and renewed purpose one horse, one person, and one step at a time.
